Dutch Cups Team

The Dutch Cup team consists of a number of regular workers and a larger group of freelancers. The freelancers are mostly students working at our logistical projects. Here below the regular team members are introducing themselves:

Dennis Valent

"In 1995 at the age of 26 I started Dutch Cups together with one of my best friends. Since then I managed to build up Dutch Cups as a leading company in the Benelux in the field of reusable plastic drink ware. I realized this together with enthusiastic employees, partner suppliers and a large group of loyal customers.

Before the time of Dutch Cups, I have studied Commercial Economics at the Business School Amsterdam (HES). Furthermore I have an entrepreneurial skills and finance degree achieved at the Open University Amsterdam. During my study years and in the early years of Dutch Cups, I have part-time worked as a tennis instructor at Tenniscollege Flevoland and at the Tennis Academy Portoroz in Slovenia. In the winter time I also worked in those years as a ski instructor in Austria. Since 2004 I have been happily married to my wife Maja and I am a proud father of Brian, Ana and Lars. In my spare time I keep myself busy with sports such as tennis and golf and I enjoy training the football team of my oldest son. Moreover, I love to write stories and try to get green fingers in our home garden.

As an entrepreneur, my interests lie primarily in the areas of sales, product and market development, and creation and marketing of new business concepts. I like to work together with specialists trying to realize common goals. My business vision is “A smile to the customer”.

Vacant position

The office clerk is supporting on a high level all kind of administrative and commercial tasks within the organisation. Tasks and responsibilities concern incoming post is correctly filed, following and executing the process of incoming and outgoing orders, purchasing products and office materials and taking care of credit management. Furthermore, this person has commercial contacts by phone and e-mail with customers and suppliers and is accountable for ICT matters and database processes.

Almar de Vries

"In March 2010 I met with Dutch Cups through my internship. After successfully graduating from my study International Trade in July 2010 I became a fulltime employee at Dutch Cups.
At Dutch Cups I am responsible for answering all customer requests and the handling of incoming orders. Besides I am involved in sales activities, including visits to new customers and maintaining contact with existing customers.

I am 23 years old and my hobbies are football, shopping and entertainment."

Jan Verwoerd

"In August 2006 I started as a trainee at Dutch Cups. I was 17 years and here I got the first chance to taste the real business world. I found it very enjoyable and educational. In the years that would follow, I always was busy at least one day a week working for Dutch Cups. Now I am 22 years, studying at the Business School of Rotterdam, but still fanatic for Dutch Cups. At Dutch Cups I am busy with all sales and promotional activities including social media, production of promotional materials and print previews for our customers. Furthermore I am in charge of the Thirst Solution bags for mobile sales of beverages and snacks.

My free time is spent mostly on going out and spending time with my girlfriend and other close friends . I am also busy with Photoshop, playing football, games, travelling and diving."

Roy van Leeuwen

"In 2008 I started at Dutch Cups as logistical employee. I am responsible for the warehouse, incoming and outgoing shipments, stock management and washing centre activities. In addition, I make the necessary transport journeys to deliver glasses to our customers or picking up return shipments.

I am 30 years old and I've lived in Lelystad my entire life. I spend most of my spare time trying to write a novel or learning programming, and three times a week I can be found at the gym. I'm also a bit of a computer and video game enthusiast."

Floris Vrij

Assistent for order management & logistics; floris@dutchcups.nl

"From August 2010 until January 2011 I did an internship at Dutch Cups. I am 21 years young and live in Lelystad. Currently I am in my final year of my study International Trade.
In my time as an internal at Dutch Cups, I supported several working areas like the order management, administration and logistics. I am very happy that I have done my internship, because you can learn a lot and that is very useful for my studies and future. I would definitely recommend an internship at this company, because the Dutch Cups team is small and young so the working atmosphere is very pleasant.
Meanwhile I am still active for about 1 or 2 days at the week at Dutch Cups next to my study. I assist the processes of incoming orders and I am also committed to logistical affairs.“
